Bessines sur Gartempe is a small village of about 3000 people situated in the
beautiful Limousin region, about 35km north of the city of Limoges and about 3.5 hours from Paris by car on the A20.
Bessines sur Gartempe has many scenic attractions within easy walking distance of the town including a lake and the picturesque Gartempe river. There are also a number of local crafts operating in the village including the art of glass-blowing and there is a popular market operating on Friday and Sunday mornings.
